Bharat Bijlee gained 3.95% to Rs 368.30 at 13:42 IST on BSE, after reporting net profit of Rs 0.70 crore in Q3 December 2013 as compared to net loss of Rs 1.58 crore in Q3 December 2012.
The Q3 result was announced during market hours today, 23 January 2014.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 23.72 points, or 0.11%, to 21,361.78
On BSE, so far 19,668 shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 4,573 shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 383.05 and a low of Rs 352 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 578 on 28 January 2013 and a 52-week low of Rs 259 on 7 August 2013.
The small-cap stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 22 January 2014, rising 1.33% compared with the Sensex's 1.22% rise. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 8.43% as against Sensex's 2.27% rise.

The company has an equity capital of Rs 5.65 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Bharat Bijlee's total income from operations (net) rose 34.07% to Rs 150.49 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012.
