Bharti Airtel gains on bargain hunting

Bharti Airtel rose 1.87% to Rs 310.70 at 12:12 IST on BSE on bargain hunting after the stock fell 8.01% in the preceding four trading sessions to Rs 305 on 21 January 2014 from a recent high of Rs 331.55 on 15 January 2014.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 9.20 points, or 0.04%, to 21,260.32.

On BSE, so far 1.32 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 3.14 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 311.90 and a low of Rs 305 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 373.50 on 1 November 2013. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 266.95 on 5 April 2013.

 

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 21 January 2014, sliding 6.98% compared with the Sensex's 0.81% rise. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 13.49% as against Sensex's 1.71% rise.

The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 1998.70 crore. Face value per share is Rs 5.

Bharti Airtel will unveil Q3 results on 29 January 2014. The company's consolidated net profit declined 29% to Rs 512 crore on 9.9% growth in net sales to Rs 21324.40 crore in Q2 September 2013 over Q2 September 2012.
