The Board of Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals at its meeting held on 07 November 2019 has approved the expansion of existing Caustic Soda Plant at Dahej Complex from 785 MTPD to 1310 MTPD (from 1200 MTPD earlier approved). This upward expansion from earlier approved 1200 MTPD capacity to 1310 MTPD would lead to additional investment of Rs. 50 crore over and above the Project Cost of Rs.825 crore. Therefore, the estimated Project Cost considering the above upward expansion and installation of 65 MW of Coal based Power Plant at Dahej Complex would be Rs.875 crore.The Project, when implemented, will contribute approx. Rs.480 Crore in Sales of the Company at the prevailing market prices. The estimated figure of turnover remains unchanged due to decrease in the prevailing market price of Caustic Soda group.
