Bosch extends losses after reports parent firm admits delivering parts to VW cars

Bosch dropped 3.91% to Rs 20,092.10 at 12:30 IST on BSE after German parent firm, Bosch reportedly said it had delivered components so-called common jail injection systems, to Volkswagen diesel cars, which face regulatory woes.

Shares of Bosch had declined 4.56% in two sessions to settle at Rs 20,910.55 on 22 September 2015 from a recent high of Rs 21,911.55 on 18 September 2015.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 33.05 points or 0.13% at 25,684.89.

On BSE, so far 3,220 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 2,028 shares in the past one quarter.

 

The stock hit a high of Rs 20,700 and a low of Rs 19,950 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 14,200 on 16 October 2014. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 27,989.25 on 20 March 2015.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 22 September 2015, falling 13.34% compared with Sensex's 6.26% fall. The stock had however outperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 3.94% as against Sensex's 7.49% fall.

The large-cap firm has equity capital of Rs 31.40 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.

Volkswagen cars are at the centre of a US probe into rigged emissions tests of diesel-powered vehicles. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said on Friday, 18 September 2015, that the Volkswagen AG used software that deceived regulators measuring toxic emissions and could face penalties of up to $18 billion.

Bosch reported 12.1% rise in net profit to Rs 343.74 crore on 8.3% growth in total income to Rs 2664.52 crore in Q1 June 2015 over Q1 June 2014.
