Britannia Industries gains on bargain hunting

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 33.54 points, or 0.17%, to 19,601.76.

On BSE, 69,000 shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 35,712 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 689 and a low of Rs 650 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 752.20 on 3 June 2013. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 400 on 7 November 2012.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 5 June 2013, rising 15.79% compared with the Sensex's 0.04% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, rising 33.41% as against Sensex's 2.22% rise.

 

The mid-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 23.92 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Britannia Industries' net profit jumped 65.7% to Rs 87.85 crore on 13.5% growth in net sales to Rs 1486.63 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012.

Britannia Industries makes biscuits, bread, rusk, cakes and dairy products like cheese, butter and milk.
