Britannia Industries leads gainers in 'A' group

FMCG company Britannia Industries surged 15.91% to Rs 665.85 after net profit jumped 65.7% to Rs 87.85 crore on 13.5% growth in net sales to Rs 1486.63 crore in Q4 March 2013 over Q4 March 2012. The Q4 result was announced after market hours on Friday, 24 May 2013. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group. It hit a record high of Rs 680 in intraday today, 27 May 2013.

Private sector bank IndusInd Bank spurted 5.99% to Rs 529.20. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock hit a record high of Rs 530.60 in intraday today, 27 May 2013.

 

FMCG company Emami galloped 5.74% to Rs 778. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock hit a record high of Rs 793 in intraday today, 27 May 2013.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise jumped 5.57% to Rs 951.65. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

Anil Dhirubhai Ambani-controlled Reliance Communications (RCom) climbed 5.31% to Rs 114.05 on reports the company has raised pre-paid mobile call rates by 33%. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

According to reports, RCom has raised basic rates for both GSM and CDMA pre-paid mobile-to-mobile calls by 33% to 2 paise per second from 1.5 paise per second. The firm will reportedly charge base rate of 2 paise per second for mobile-to-mobile calls. The base rate, or the headline tariff, applies to customers not covered under any special scheme offered by their telecom operator.
