The Mainland China equity market finished session higher for a fourth straight session on Wednesday, 03 January 2018, with shares of firms linked to the Xiongan New Area as well as aviation and communications stocks made strong gain. The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.62%, or 20.78 points, yesterday to close at 3,369.11. The Shenzhen Component index rose 0.91%, or 102.25 points, to 1,1280.30, and the Nasdaq-style ChiNext jumped 1.45% to 1,795.38. Meanwhile, the blue-chip CSI300 index gained for the fourth consecutive session, up 0.59% to 3,369.1, with its financial sector sub-index flat, the consumer staples sector up 1.2%, the real estate index up 0.59% and the healthcare sub-index up 0.03%. Combined turnover for Shanghai and Shenzhen markets jumped 19 per cent to 532 billion yuan.
