The Mainland China equity market finished session higher on Tuesday, 2 January 2018, as risk appetite buying spurred after a survey of Chinese manufacturing activity in December proved surprisingly upbeat. The Shanghai Composite index closed up 41.15 points or 1.24% at 3,348.33. The blue-chip CSI300 index was up 1.41%, pr 56.55 points, to 4,087.40. The Shenzhen Composite Index gained 1.05%, or 19.86 points, to 1,919.20, and the Nasdaq-style ChiNext inched up 0.97%, or 17.02 points, to 1,769.67.
