The Mainland China equity market closed session virtually flat on Tuesday, 22 May 2018, weighed down by real estate and banking firms, despite signs of easing trade tensions after the United States and China are said to be nearing a deal to settle ZTE controversy and the United States postponed its proposal to raise tariffs on Chinese goods worth up to $150 billion. The blue-chip CSI300 index fell 0.4%, to 3,906.21 points, while the Shanghai Composite Index ended flat at 3,214.35 points.
