The Mainland China equity market ended softer on Monday, 04 December 2017, as investors opted to take risk off the table amid lingering concerns over actions by Chinese regulators. At the close, the Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.24%, or 8 points, to 3,309.62, while the Shenzhen Composite Index fell 0.72%, or 13.89 points, to 1,902.91. The CSI 300 Index increased 0.52%, or 20.72 points, to 4,018.86.
