The Mainland China equity market finished higher in light trading on Wednesday, 14 February 2018, as many traders had already left for the week-long Lunar New Year holiday that starts on Thursday. At the close, the Shanghai Composite index was up 14.52 points or 0.46% at 3,199.48. The large-cap CSI 300 Index added 0.8% to 3,966.96. The Shenzhen Composite Index rose 0.48% to 1,739.15, while the Nasdaq-style ChiNext index dipped 0.11% to 1,646.77.China's stock market will be closed from Thursday (15 Feb 2018) through next Wednesday (22 Feb 2018) for the holiday.
