The Mainland China equity market closed session down on Thursday, 31 August 2017,as investors pocketed recent gains on caution ahead of key economic data slated to release tomorrow. Trading sentiment was largely subdued despite the faster-than-expected expansion in China's manufacturing activity in August amid an improved supply and domestic demand. The mainland's Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.1%, or 2.82 points, to 3,360.81, recording a 2.7% gain for the month. The CSI 300 dropped 0.3%.
