Coal India gained 2.21% to Rs 258.50 at 10:13 IST on BSE after consolidated net profit jumped 362.47% to Rs 6024.23 crore on 6.32% rise in total income to Rs 30365.84 crore in Q4 March 2019 over Q4 March 2018.
The result was announced after market hours yesterday, 30 May 2019.Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 215.45 points, or 0.54% to 40,047.42
On the BSE, 5.54 lakh shares were traded in the counter so far compared with average daily volumes of 1.92 lakh shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 263.30 and a low of Rs 257.30 so far during the day.
Coal India said that its production of raw coal stood at 194.45 million tonnes in Q4 March 2019 as against 183.45 million tonnes in Q4 March 2018. Off take of raw coal stood at 163.51 million tonnes as against 158.86 million tonnes.
Coal India is the single largest coal producer in the world.
