Crompton Greaves rose 7.09% to Rs 166.25 at 15:18 IST on BSE on bargain hunting after the stock tumbled 14.08% in the preceding seven trading sessions to Rs 155.25 yesterday, 7 September 2015, from a recent high of Rs 180.70 on 27 August 2015.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 392.04 points, or 1.57%, to 25,285.85.
On BSE, so far 2.78 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 3.17 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 167.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a low of Rs 152.85 so far during the day, which is also a 52-week low for the counter. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 231 on 10 September 2014.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 7 September 2015, falling 19.43% compared with 11.84% fall in the Sensex. The scrip had, however, outperformed the market in past one quarter, falling 4.93% as against Sensex's 7% decline.
The large-cap company has an equity capital of Rs 125.35 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.
