Currency In Circulation Rises By 4.2% So Far This Fiscal

The Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) reported that currency in circulation rose by 0.90% on the week to stand at Rs 22.26 lakh crore trillion as on 11 October 2019. The central bank noted further that the overall reserve money fell by 0.30% on the week to Rs 28.25 lakh crore. Currency in circulation rose 13.80% on a year ago basis compared to 21% surge at the same time last year. In the current fiscal, the currency in circulation has grown by 4.2% so far while the reserve money has edged up by 2%.
