Reduction in power tariff and vegetable prices tops the list of promises of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of Dec 4 state assembly elections in Delhi. The BJP's election manifesto released on Tuesday 26 Nov 2013, focuses largely on the price-rise issue, promising 30% reduction in the power tariffs, controlling prices of onions and tomatoes within 30 days, and increasing the number of subsidised cooking gas cylinders per family from 9 to 12.
Full statehood for Delhi, mono-rail, health insurance for all citizens and regularisation of unauthorised colonies are some of the other promises on the manifesto, which was made after incorporating a number of suggestions received from Delhiites online. Trauma centres in all districts, and 25 types of medicines free of cost to every Delhi citizen are other promises being made by the BJP. The party also pledged to form a Madrassa Board and expand Lal Dora area
