Diesel Under-Recovery falls to Rs 8.47/litre

Combined Daily Under-Recovery declines to Rs 464 crore for fortnight effective 16 January 2014

The under-recovery on High Speed Diesel (HSD) applicable for 2nd fortnight of January effective 16 January 2014 fell to Rs 8.47 per/litre. This was Rs 9.74 per litre from 1 January 2014 and Rs 9.24 from 4 January 2014 (after price increase by Oil Marketing Company (OMCs)) of Ist fortnight of January 2014. In the case of PDS Kerosene and Domestic LPG, the under-recoveries for the month of January 2014 remain same at Rs 37.33 per litre and Rs 762.70 per cylinder respectively as announced on 1 January 2014 since their prices are computed on monthly basis.

OMCs, effective 16 January 2014, are incurring combined daily under-recovery of about Rs 464 crore on the sale of Diesel, PDS Kerosene and Domestic LPG. Further, the OMC's reported a total under-recovery of Rs 60,907 crore during Ist half of 2013-14 on Diesel, PDS Kerosene, Domestic LPG.
