Divi's Lab drops after 6-day 5.6% rally

Divi's Laboratories fell 0.8% to Rs 1,115.50 at 13:49 IST on BSE, with the stock sliding on profit booking after 6-day 5.65% rally.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 188.63 points or 1.08% to 17,601.59.

On BSE, 8,178 shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 20,649 shares over the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 1,132 and a low of Rs 1,114 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 1,135 on Monday, 6 August 2012. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 690 on 26 August 2011.

 

The large-cap stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 6 August 2012, surging 9.89% compared with the Sensex's 0.62% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 30.72% as against the Sensex's 3.46% rise.

The company has equity capital of Rs 26.55 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Divi's Laboratories rallied 5.65% in six trading sessions to settle at Rs 1,124.55 on Monday, 6 August 2012, from a recent low of Rs 1,064.35 on 27 July 2012.

Divi's Laboratories' net profit jumped 63.2% to Rs 167.38 crore on 29.7% growth in net sales to Rs 468.41 crore in Q1 June 2012 over Q1 June 2011.

Divi's Laboratories on 4 August 2012 said its Unit-2 near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh has undergone 3 cGMP inspections during June-July 2012. One of the inspections was by TGA of Australia for active pharma ingredients. The other 2 inspections were by US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), one for nutraceuticals and the other for active pharma ingredients. All the 3 inspections had no major observations, Divi's said in a statement.

Divi's Laboratories' product portfolio comprises generic active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and custom synthesis of APIs, intermediates and specialty ingredients for innovator pharma giants. Custom synthesis also includes peptide building blocks (protected amino acids).
