Domestic air passenger traffic growth eases to 11% in November 2018

Air passenger traffic surges 19.2% in January-November 2018

The air passenger traffic of domestic airlines has increased at 51-months low pace of 11.0% to 116.45 lakh in November 2018 over 104.89 lakh in November 2017. The cumulative air passenger traffic increased 19.2% to 1262.82 lakh in January-November 2018 over 1059.34 lakh in January-November 2017.

Indigo has posted strong 21.2% growth in the passenger traffic to 50.06 lakh, while gained share to 43.0% in November 2018. Air Asia also posted strong 41.4% growth in the passenger traffic to 6.18 lakh, followed by Vistara 11.6% to 4.15 lakh, Spice Jet 10.2% to 14.55 lakh and Go Air 9.1% to 10.19 lakh.

 

However, the passenger traffic of Air India declined 0.4% to 14.18 lakh, Jet Airways 6.9% to 14.87 lakh and Jet Lite 27.4% to 1.75 lakh in November 2018 over November 2017.

The airline wise seat load factor was Spice Jet at 91.1%, Go Air 87.6%, Air Asia 86.5%, Indigo 84.9%, Jet Airways 82.1%, Jet Lite 80.9%, Trujet 78.8%, Air India 78.6% and Vistara 78.5% in November 2018.
