Domestic passenger traffic of scheduled airlines rises 8.3% to 56.97 lakh in August 2014

Passenger traffic advances 5.3% to 433.25 lakh in Jan-Aug 2014

The domestic passenger traffic of scheduled domestic airlines surged 8.3% to 56.97 lakh in August 2014 compared with 52.6 lakh recorded in August 2013.

The passenger traffic of scheduled airlines moved up 5.3% to 433.25 lakh during Jan-Aug 2014 compared with 411.4 lakh recorded during Jan-Aug 2013.

Airline wise passenger traffic for August 2014 was: Air India (Domestic) - 9.24 lakh, Jet Airways - 9.16 lakh, JetLite - 2.26 lakh, Spice Jet - 11.09 lakh, Go Air - 5.67 lakh, IndiGo - 18.59 lakh, Air Costa - 0.6 lakh, and Air Asia 0.36 lakh.

 

The average seat factor of the domestic airlines for August 2014 was: Air India (Domestic) - 70.3%, Jet Airways - 70.9%, JetLite - 71.3%, Spice Jet - 82.5%, Go Air - 81.3%, IndiGo - 74.8%, Air Costa - 65.8%, and Air Asia 73%.
