Export of Oilmeals down by 8% in April - May 2018

The export of oilmeals during May 2018, provisionally reported at 97,036 tons compared to 144,524 tons in May 2017, as per the export of oilmeals data for the month of May 2018, compiled by The Solvent Extractors' Association of India.

The overall export during April & May 2018 is reported at 321,179 tons compared to 348,222 tons during the same period of last year i.e. down by 8%. The export of rapeseed meal is sharply increased to nearly 143,000 tons, in first two months, mainly exported to South Korea and Thailand.

South Korea, France, Vietnam & Thailand - Major Importers of Oilmeals:- During April - May 2018 Vietnam imported 51,568 tons of oilmeals (compared to 59,578 tons); consisting of 1,927 tons of soybean meal, 10,634 tons of rapeseed meal and 39,007 tons of De-oiled Rice Bran Extraction. South Korea imported 49,768 tons of oilmeals (compared to 67,920 tons) ; consisting 46,381 tons of rapeseed meal, 3,129 tons of soybean meal and 258 tons of castor meal. Thailand imported 62,176 tons of oilmeals (compared to 29,251 tons); consisting 2,417 tons of soybean meal, 3,855 tons of De-oiled Rice Bran Extraction, and 55,868 tons of rapeseed meal. France imported 28,377 tons of oilmeals (compared to 1,736 tons); consisting 26,600 tons of soybean meal and 1,777 tons of Castor meal.

 

Port-wise Export : April - May 2018 The export from Kandla is reported at 147,587 tons (46%), followed by Mumbai including JNPT handled 31,297 tons (10%), Mundra handled 38,693 tons (12%) and Kolkata handled 47,173 tons (15%).
