FIIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 1336.80 crore on 20 September 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth net Rs 1336.80 crore on Friday, 20 September 2013, compared with net inflow of Rs 3558.40 crore on Thursday, 19 September 2013.

The net inflow of Rs 1336.80 crore on Friday, 20 September 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5839.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 4502.40 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 977.10 crore into the secondary equity markets on 20 September 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5479.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 4502 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had tumbled 382.93 points or 1.85% to settle at 20,263.71 on that day, its lowest closing level since 18 September 2013.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 359.70 crore into the category 'primary market others' on Friday, 20 September 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 360 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.30 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12379.50 crore in September 2013 so far (till 20 September 2013). FIIs sold shares worth a net Rs 5922.50 crore in August 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 72549.10 crore in 2013 so far (till 20 September 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,743 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
