Net inflow of Rs 907.60 crore on 12 March 2014
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 907.60 crore on Wednesday, 12 March 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 1519.30 crore on Tuesday, 11 March 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 907.60 crore on Wednesday, 12 March 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3238.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 2331.20 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 893.70 crore into the secondary equity market on Wednesday, 12 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3220.70 crore and gross sales of Rs 2327 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 29.80 points or 0.14% to settle at 21,856.22 on that day, its highest closing level since 10 March 2014.
There was a net inflow of Rs 13.90 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Wednesday, 12 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 18.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 4.20 crore.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4431.30 crore in this month so far (till 12 March 2014). FIIs bought shares worth net Rs 1404.30 crore in February 2014.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 6549.90 crore in this calendar year so far (till 12 March 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.
There are a total of 1,721 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
