Net inflow of Rs 222.40 crore on 21 April 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 222.40 crore on Monday, 21 April 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 408.10 crore on Thursday, 17 April 2014. The stock market was closed on Friday, 18 April 2014, on account of Good Friday.

The net inflow of Rs 222.40 crore on Monday, 21 April 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2289.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 2067.10 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 262.40 crore into the secondary equity market on Monday, 21 April 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2289.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 2027.20 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 135.99 points or 0.6% to settle at 22,764.83 on that day, a record closing high for the index.

 

There was an outflow of Rs 40 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Monday, 21 April 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 7414 crore in April 2014 so far (till 21 April 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 20077.20 crore in March 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 29609.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 21 April 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,712 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
