Net inflow of Rs 1168.40 crore on 15 May 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1168.40 crore on Thursday, 15 May 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 1168.40 crore on Thursday, 15 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4982.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 3814.20 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1023.70 crore into the secondary equity market on Thursday, 15 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4828.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 3804.50 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 90.48 points or 0.38% to settle at 23,905.60 on that day, a record closing high for the barometer index.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 144.70 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Thursday, 15 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 154.50 crore and gross sales of Rs 9.80 crore.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 9423.60 crore in this month so far (till 15 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 41221.60 crore in this calendar year so far (till 15 May 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,713 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
