Net inflow of Rs 1419.10 crore on 19 May 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1419.10 crore on Monday, 19 May 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 3695.10 crore on Friday, 16 May 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 1419.10 crore on Monday, 19 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8476.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 7057 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1422.60 crore into the secondary equity market on Monday, 19 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 8476.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 7053.50 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 241.31 points or 1% to settle at 24,363.05 on that day, a record closing high for the index.

 

There was an outflow of Rs 3.50 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Monday, 19 May 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 14537.80 crore in this month so far (till 19 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 46335.80 crore in this calendar year so far (till 19 May 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,710 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
