Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 104.20 crore on Monday, 8 April 2013, compared with outflow of Rs 122.70 crore on Friday, 5 April 2013.
The net outflow of Rs 104.20 crore on Monday, 8 April 2013, was a result of gross purchases Rs 1553.60 crore and gross sales Rs 1657.80 crore. The entire net outflow of Rs 104.20 crore on 8 April 2013 pertained to secondary equity market transactions. The S&P BSE Sensex had lost 12.45 points or 0.07% to settle at 18437.78 on that day, its lowest closing level since 20 November 2012.
FIIs have bought shares worth Rs 412.40 crore in April 2013 so far (till 8 April 2013). FIIs had purchased shares worth Rs 9124.30 crore in March 2013.
FIIs have purchased shares worth net Rs 56034.80 crore in 2013 so far (till 8 April 2013). FIIs bought shares worth net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.
There are a total of 1,757 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
