Net outflow of Rs 748.70 crore on 21 August 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 748.70 crore on Wednesday, 21 August 2013, compared with outflow of Rs 1364.80 crore on Tuesday, 20 August 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 748.70 crore on Wednesday, 21 August 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3958.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 4707 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 748.40 crore from the secondary equity markets on 21 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases Rs 3958.40 crore and gross sales Rs 4706.80 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex lost 340.13 points or 1.86% to settle at 17,905.91 on that day, its lowest closing level since 11 September 2012.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 0.20 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Wednesday, 21 August 2013.

FIIs have offloaded shares worth a net Rs 1668.50 crore in August 2013 so far (till 21 August 2013). FIIs sold shares worth a net Rs 6086.10 crore in July 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 64423.80 crore in 2013 so far (till 21 August 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,758 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
