Net inflow of Rs 415.70 crore on 12 August 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth net Rs 415.70 crore on Monday, 12 August 2013, compared with net outflow of Rs 338.60 crore on Thursday, 8 August 2013. The stock market was closed on Friday, 9 August 2013 on account of Ramzan Id.

The net inflow of Rs 415.70 crore on Monday, 12 August 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3222.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2806.50 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 416.10 crore into the secondary equity markets on 12 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3222.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2806.10 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had advanced 157.64 points or 0.84% to settle at 18,946.98 on that day, its highest closing level since 5 August 2013.

 

There was an outflow of Rs 0.40 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Monday, 12 August 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth net Rs 1230.20 crore in August 2013 so far (till 12 August 2013). FIIs sold shares worth net Rs 6086.10 crore in July 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 67322.60 crore in 2013 so far (till 12 August 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,751 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
