Net inflow of Rs 324.20 crore on 9 October 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth net Rs 324.20 crore on Wednesday, 9 October 2013, compared with net inflow of Rs 236.10 crore on Tuesday, 8 October 2013.

The net inflow of Rs 324.20 crore on Wednesday, 9 October 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2705.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2381 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 334.90 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 October 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2705.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2370.40 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex surged 265.65 points or 1.33% to settle at 20,249.26 on that day, its highest closing level since 20 September 2013.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 10.70 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Wednesday, 9 October 2013, which was a result of zero gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 10.70 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 2468.10 crore in October 2013 so far (till 9 October 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13057.80 crore in September 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 75695.50 crore in 2013 so far (till 9 October 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,745 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
