Net inflow of Rs 408.10 crore on 17 April 2014
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 408.10 crore on Thursday, 17 April 2014, compared with net outflow of Rs 62.40 crore on Wednesday, 16 April 2014. The stock market was closed on Friday, 18 April 2014, on account of Good Friday.
The net inflow of Rs 408.10 crore on Thursday, 17 April 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3357 crore and gross sales of Rs 2949 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 434.50 crore into the secondary equity market on Thursday, 17 April 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3357 crore and gross sales of Rs 2922.60 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 351.61 points or 1.58% to settle at 22,628.84 on that day, its highest closing level since 11 April 2014.
There was an outflow of Rs 26.40 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Thursday, 17 April 2014.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 7191.60 crore in April 2014 so far (till 17 April 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 20077.20 crore in March 2014.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 29387.30 crore in this calendar year so far (till 17 April 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.
