Net inflow of Rs 514.60 crore on 23 May 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 514.60 crore on Friday, 23 May 2014, compared with net outflow of Rs 112.90 crore on Thursday, 22 May 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 514.60 crore on Friday, 23 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6809.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 6295.30 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 489.50 crore into the secondary equity market on Friday, 23 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6784.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 6295.30 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 318.95 points or 1.31% to settle at 24,693.35 on that day, a record closing high.

 

There was an inflow of Rs 25.20 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Friday, 23 May 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 14738.60 crore in this month so far (till 23 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 46536.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 23 May 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,706 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
