Net outflow of Rs 252.90 crore on 7 August 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded shares worth net Rs 252.90 crore on Wednesday, 7 August 2013, compared with inflow of Rs 356.60 crore on Tuesday, 6 August 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 252.90 crore on Wednesday, 7 August 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3436.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 3689 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 252.70 crore from the secondary equity markets on 7 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3435.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 3688.50 crore. The BSE Sensex had lost 68.16 points or 0.36% to settle at 18,664.88 on that day, its lowest closing level since 26 June 2013.

 

There was an outflow of Rs 0.20 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Wednesday, 7 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases Rs 0.20 crore and gross sales Rs 0.40 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth net Rs 1153.10 crore in August 2013 so far (till 7 August 2013). FIIs sold shares worth net Rs 6086.10 crore in July 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 67245.50 crore in 2013 so far (till 7 August 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,755 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
