Net outflow of Rs 170.60 crore on 27 September 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 170.60 crore on Friday, 27 September 2013, compared with net inflow of Rs 408.20 crore on Thursday, 26 September 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 170.60 crore on Friday, 27 September 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1839 crore and gross sales of Rs 2009.60 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 224.40 crore from the secondary equity markets on 27 September 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1784.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 2008.70 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had tumbled 166.58 points or 0.84% to settle at 19,727.27 on that day, its lowest closing level since 6 September 2013.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 53.90 crore into the category 'primary market others' on Friday, 27 September 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 54.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.90 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 13057.80 crore in September 2013 so far (till 27 September 2013). FIIs sold shares worth a net Rs 5922.50 crore in August 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 73227.40 crore in 2013 so far (till 27 September 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,746 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
