Net outflow of Rs 225.50 crore on 6 June 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 225.50 crore on Thursday, 6 June 2013, compared with inflow of Rs 160 crore on Wednesday, 5 June 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 225.50 crore on Thursday, 6 June 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2112.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 2338.50 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 226.20 crore from the secondary equity markets on 6 June 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2111.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 2338 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had lost 48.73 points or 0.25% to settle at 19,519.49 on that day, its lowest closing level since 30 April 2013.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 0.70 crore into the category 'primary market others' on Thursday, 6 June 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.50 crore.

FIIs have purchased shares worth Rs 117.70 crore in June 2013 so far (till 6 June 2013). FIIs bought shares worth Rs 22168.60 crore in May 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 83322.80 crore in 2013 so far (till 6 June 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,753 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
