FIIs step up buying

Net inflow of Rs 993.60 crore on 11 October 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth net Rs 993.60 crore on Friday, 11 October 2013, higher than net inflow of Rs 762.20 crore on Thursday, 10 October 2013.

The net inflow of Rs 993.60 crore on Friday, 11 October 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2742.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 1748.80 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 994.10 crore into the secondary equity markets on 11 October 2013, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2742.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 1748.30 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had jumped 255.68 points or 1.26% to settle at 20,528.59 on that day, its highest closing level since 19 September 2013.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 0.50 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Friday, 11 October 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 4223.90 crore in this month so far (till 11 October 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13057.80 crore in September 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 77451.30 crore in 2013 so far (till 11 October 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,747 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
