Net inflow of Rs 991.70 crore on 24 October 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 991.70 crore on Thursday, 24 October 2013, higher than net inflow of Rs 645.70 crore on Wednesday, 23 October 2013.

The net inflow of Rs 991.70 crore on Thursday, 24 October 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2891.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 1899.60 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1004.90 crore into the secondary equity markets on 24 October 2013 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2891.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 1886.40 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had lost 42.45 points or 0.2% to settle at 20,725.43 on that day, its lowest closing level since 17 October 2013.

 

There was an outflow of Rs 13.20 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Thursday, 24 October 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12109.20 crore in October 2013 so far (till 24 October 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13057.80 crore in September 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 85336.60 crore in 2013 so far (till 24 October 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,744 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
