Net inflow of Rs 2672.70 crore on 7 March 2014
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 2672.70 crore on Friday, 7 March 2014, which was substantially higher than inflow of Rs 1299.80 crore on Thursday, 6 March 2014.
The net inflow of Rs 2672.70 crore on Friday, 7 March 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6393.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 3721.20 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 2655.80 crore into the secondary equity market on Friday, 7 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 6375.80 crore and gross sales of Rs 3720 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had jumped 405.92 points or 1.89% to settle at 21,919.79 on that day, a record closing high.
There was a net inflow of Rs 16.90 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Friday, 7 March 2014, which was a result of gross purchases Rs 18.10 crore and gross sales Rs 1.20 crore.
FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 5747.60 crore in this month so far (till 7 March 2014). FIIs bought shares worth net Rs 1404.30 crore in February 2014.
