Net inflow of Rs 527.80 crore on 8 May 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 527.80 crore on Thursday, 8 May 2014, higher than inflow of Rs 148.10 crore on Wednesday, 7 May 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 527.80 crore on Thursday, 8 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3553.30 crore and gross sales of Rs 3025.50 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 518.50 crore into the secondary equity market on Thursday, 8 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3542.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 3024.40 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had risen 20.14 points or 0.09% to settle at 22,344.04 on that day, its highest closing level since 6 May 2014.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 9.30 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on Thursday, 8 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 10.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.10 crore.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2124.60 crore in this month so far (till 8 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 33922.60 crore in this calendar year so far (till 8 May 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,710 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
