Net inflow of Rs 3695.10 crore on 16 May 2014

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 3695.10 crore on Friday, 16 May 2014, higher than net inflow of Rs 1168.40 crore on Thursday, 15 May 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 3695.10 crore on Friday, 16 May 2014, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11950.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 8255.50 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 3699.50 crore into the secondary equity market on Friday, 16 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 11950.60 crore and gross sales of Rs 8251.10 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had garnered 216.14 points or 0.9% to settle at 24,121.74 on that day, a record closing high for the index.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 4.40 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on Friday, 16 May 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.10 crore and gross sales of Rs 4.40 crore.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 13118.70 crore in this month so far (till 16 May 2014). FIIs purchased shares worth a net Rs 9602.40 crore in April 2014.

FIIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 44916.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 16 May 2014). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113135.70 crore in 2013 calendar year.

There are a total of 1,713 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
