Net outflow of Rs 1366.30 crore on 27 August 2013

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth net Rs 1366.30 crore on Tuesday, 27 August 2013, much higher than net outflow of Rs 553.10 crore on Monday, 26 August 2013.

The net outflow of Rs 1366.30 crore on Tuesday, 27 August 2013, was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2924.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 4291.20 crore. There was a net outflow of Rs 1348.80 crore from the secondary equity markets on 27 August 2013, which was a result of gross purchases Rs 2924.90 crore and gross sales Rs 4273.70 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had tanked 590.05 points or 3.18% to settle at 17,968.08 on that day, its lowest closing level since 21 August 2013.

 

There was an outflow of Rs 17.50 crore from the category 'primary market others' on Tuesday, 27 August 2013.

FIIs have offloaded shares worth a net Rs 4937.70 crore in August 2013 so far (till 27 August 2013). FIIs sold shares worth a net Rs 6086.10 crore in July 2013.

FIIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 61154.70 crore in 2013 so far (till 27 August 2013). FIIs bought shares worth a net Rs 128359.80 crore in calendar 2012.

There are a total of 1,755 foreign funds registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India.
