Financials stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Finance index increasing 124.16 points or 1.82% at 6949.79 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Centrum Capital Ltd (up 12.94%), Weizmann Forex Ltd (up 10%),CARE Ratings Ltd (up 7.52%),Max Ventures and Industries Ltd (up 5.36%),PNB Housing Finance Ltd (up 4.74%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (up 4.73%), Magma Fincorp Ltd (up 3.91%), Edelweiss Financial Services Ltd (up 3.79%), Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up 3.71%), and L&T Finance Holdings Ltd (up 3.6%).
On the other hand, Reliance Capital Ltd (down 4.99%), Bank of Maharashtra (down 0.08%), and Shriram City Union Finance Ltd (down 0%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 522.11 or 1.28% at 41198.74.
The Nifty 50 index was up 155.7 points or 1.3% at 12148.75.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 211.94 points or 1.55% at 13927.12.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 70.64 points or 1.49% at 4805.25.
On BSE,1262 shares were trading in green, 243 were trading in red and 56 were unchanged.
