FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 658.24 crore on 19 August 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 658.24 crore on Tuesday, 19 August 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 1183.12 crore on Monday, 18 August 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 658.24 crore on 19 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4352.78 crore and gross sales of Rs 3694.54 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 640.45 crore into the secondary equity market on 19 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4334.58 crore and gross sales of Rs 3694.13 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex garnered 29.71 points or 0.11% to settle at a record closing high at 26,420.67.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 17.79 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 19 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 18.20 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.41 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2991.01 crore in August 2014 (till 19 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 75909.80 crore in this calendar year so far (till 19 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
