FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 490.10 crore on 21 August 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 490.10 crore on Thursday, 21 August 2014, compared with net inflow of Rs 305.60 crore on Wednesday, 20 August 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 490.10 crore on 21 August 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3840.77 crore and gross sales of Rs 3350.67 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 504.73 crore into the secondary equity market on 21 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3839.23 crore and gross sales of Rs 3334.50 crore. On that day, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 45.82 points or 0.17% to settle at 26,360.11, its highest closing level since 19 August 2014.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 14.63 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 21 August 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 1.54 crore and gross sales of Rs 16.17 crore.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 3786.71 crore in August 2014 (till 21 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 13123.86 crore in July 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 76705.50 crore in this calendar year so far (till 21 August 2014). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 113136 crore in 2013 calendar year.
