Net inflow of Rs 1458.78 crore on 3 November 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth a net Rs 1458.78 crore on Monday, 3 November 2014, lower than net inflow of Rs 1906.73 crore on Friday, 31 October 2014. The stock market was closed yesterday, 4 November 2014, on account of Muharram.

The net inflow of Rs 1458.78 crore on 3 November 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4483.27 crore and gross sales of Rs 3024.49 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 1459.30 crore into the secondary equity market on 3 November 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4483.09 crore and gross sales of Rs 3023.79 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex had fallen 5.45 points or 0.02% to settle at 27,860.38 on that day, its lowest closing level since 30 October 2014.

 

There was a net outflow of Rs 0.52 crore from the category 'primary market & others' on 3 November 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.18 and gross sales of Rs 0.70 crore.

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 1171.51 crore in October 2014. They have sold shares worth a net Rs 2010.97 crore from the secondary markets in October 2014. FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5102.52 crore in September 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 4137.79 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 85631.70 crore in this calendar year so far (till 3 November 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 76719.60 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far (till 3 November 2014).
