Net buying of Rs 269.10 crore on 23 October 2015
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 269.10 crore on Friday, 23 October 2015, higher than net inflow of Rs 88.91 crore on Wednesday, 21 October 2015. The stock market had remained closed on Thursday, 22 October 2015 on account of Dussehra.
The net inflow of Rs 269.10 crore into the secondary equity markets on 23 October 2015 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4579.72 crore and gross sales of Rs 4310.62 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 183.15 points or 0.67% to settle at 27,470.81, its highest closing level since 20 August 2015.
No activity was witnessed in the category 'primary markets & others' on 23 October 2015.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 5946.91 crore in this month so far (till 23 October 2015). They sold shares worth a net Rs 11087.28 crore into the secondary equity markets last month.
