FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 438.69 crore on 27 April 2016

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 438.69 crore on 27 April 2016, compared with net inflow of Rs 572.54 crore on 26 April 2016. The net inflow of Rs 438.69 crore into the secondary equity markets on 27 April 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4450.11 crore and gross sales of Rs 4011.42 crore. On that day, the Sensex had risen 56.82 points or 0.22% to settle at 26,064.12, its highest closing level since 1 January 2016.

FPIs have mopped up stocks worth a net Rs 8115.71 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 27 April 2016). FPIs bought stocks worth a net Rs 20720.56 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12585.03 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 27 April 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.

 

There has been a net inflow of Rs 64.08 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in this month so far (till 27 April 2016). There was an inflow of Rs 422.36 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 89.85 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 27 April 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2015.
