FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 291.47 crore on 9 May 2016

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 291.47 crore on 9 May 2016, as compared with net inflow of Rs 95.40 crore on 6 May 2016. The net inflow of Rs 291.47 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 May 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3923.38 crore and gross sales of Rs 3631.91 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 460.36 points or 1.82% to settle at 25,688.86, its highest closing level since 27 April 2016.

There was an inflow of Rs 3.81 crore into 'primary markets & others' category on 9 May 2016 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3.81 crore and nil gross sales.

 

FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 401.32 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 9 May 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8347.69 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12415.69 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 9 May 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.

The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 112.31 crore in this month so far (till 9 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 68.04 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 206.12 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 9 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2015.
