Net inflow of Rs 407.26 crore on 30 May 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 407.26 crore on Monday, 30 May 2016, lower than net inflow of Rs 674.84 crore during the preceding trading session on 27 May 2016. The net inflow of Rs 407.26 crore into the secondary equity markets on 30 May 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4129.23 crore and gross sales of Rs 3721.97 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 72 points or 0.27% to settle at 26,725.60, its highest closing level since 29 October 2015.
FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 2000 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 30 May 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8347.69 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 14817.01 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 30 May 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
The net outflow of Rs 17.74 crore from the category 'primary markets & others' on 30 May 2016 was a result of zero gross purchases and gross sales of Rs 17.74 crore. The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 542.89 crore in this month so far (till 30 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 68.04 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' last month. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 636.70 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 30 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
