FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 343.53 crore on 1 June 2016

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 343.53 crore on Wednesday, 1 June 2016, higher than net inflow of Rs 19.13 crore during the preceding trading session on 31 May 2016. The net inflow of Rs 343.53 crore into the secondary equity markets on 1 June 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4000.95 crore and gross sales of Rs 3657.42 crore. On that day, the Sensex rose 45.97 points or 0.17% to settle at 26,713.93, its highest closing level since 30 May 2016.

FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 15179.67 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 1 June 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.

 

There was a net inflow of Rs 0.03 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 1 June 2016. The net inflow of Rs 0.03 crore into the category 'primary markets & others' on 1 June 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.03 crore and zero gross sales. The net inflow from FPIs into category 'primary markets & others' has totaled Rs 637.26 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 1 June 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' in calendar year 2015.
